Thought to be 7 or 8 years old, Ginger was brought to the shelter after several attempts to socialize Ginger with another family cat had failed. Corrine, Ginger's one-time hopeful owner, had been feeding Ginger outside for several years. Corrine had an elderly cat already and did not want to stress her cat by adding Ginger to the mix. Unfortunately, Corrine's cat passed and she planned at that time to take Ginger indoors, but Ginger disappeared and did not return for many months.
Lonesome for a cat, Corrine and family adopted a new cat from a local shelter and everyone settled in as a new family. Well, wouldn't you know it....Ginger cat returned. So Corrine took Ginger in. The problem was, the family cat reacted so strongly to Ginger that she had to be put back outside, for the safety of the family and for the two cats. This broke Corinne's heart as Ginger was such a sweet cat and she was afraid that she would come to harm being outdoors. Corrine contacted Gypsy Cats and there was room to take her in.
Ginger is getting along very well with the other residents at Gypsy Cats. Although she keeps a safe distance from the other cats, she is learning that it is safe to play and sleep and eat with other cats around.
Ginger appears to be in good health, is front paw declawed, and spayed. She is gentle, but does get startled sometimes and hides. Please help sponsor Ginger's care by making a donation in any amount below.
